Bad Hits

What is a Bad Hit?

My name is Mike and I’m the author of Bad Wax, and I wanted a place where I could post some of my game used and autograph cards. My collection is rather ordinary and I’ve never paid more than two dollars for any of these cards, other than the cards I found in packs that may have cost three dollars or more. I assure you that for most of the players you have heard of them. Overall though these cards are little more than commons. I have a ton of these cards but I am going to only post one per day. One more thing, after every 5000 visitors, I will be giving away one of these for free. So as soon as we hit 5000, 10000, 15000, ect… be the first to email me at and you might win them. Don’t worry I’ll remind you as the numbers get closer.

Don’t forget to visit:

  1. Part of the problem with GU and AU cards lately is that outside of the high end products…most of them are crap. Single color swatches, or autographs of people only player / team collectors care about because they’re not major names.

Say you follow the Red Sox, and pull an AU…but it’s of Coco Crisp. Good guy and all…but not Ortiz, Matsuzaka, Schilling or any of the major names. It’s almost depressing in a way.

Besides that, the near-overproduction of the GU and AUs are getting to the point where it’s starting to devalue the entire market. This is good for collectors, granted, but can be rough when you’re looking at the sheer number of things to get. I don’t know…I’m just starting to get burned out on the ‘hits’ and going back to what I started with: I want my players, and that’s it.
